How to promote a movie?
Attended the seminar of Polina Tolmacheva - PR director of FILMM.UA
It was very informative event for me. Maybe because I'm not a PR, but a film director.
But it was great to meet here Roma Grischuk and Andrei Sharko. This is the reason why you should go to the events like that. Not only to get new info, but to meet friends or to get to know them again.😅
Now about the insides:
- Even before youbegin to write the script, you need to know the statistics: for whom do you make your movie? What is the portrait fo Your recepients? Theyr values and worldview? The coincidence of the values of your movie and the values of your audience is the keys to success!
- Movie is an entertainment for the viewer. Your film, and its main message, should answer clearly the question: "why should the viewer spend his money and time? What will he receive?"
- will your movie be successful is clear at the step of the script.
- Trailer is one of the main tools of selling your movie. It should be demonstrated no later than 6 months before the premiere.
- Warm up your viewer. Prior to the premiere the mention about the movie should be in the media, social networks, rasio, release the clip of the soundtrack (would be better with a star), make promo with partners and BTL.
- Premiere. Top of information about your movie should be in 2-3 weeks before the premiere. Go to the regions with, make meetings with the director or actors. Spend a few premieres in the capital. If possible, for each premiere bring someone from the crew: the director, the producer, actors. At the pre-premiere show, you should invite leaders of opinion, blogers, media, journalists - they are your first audience. Watch their reaction.
- Warm up your viewers during the first week with gifts, share sold out in networks, share with viewers' opinions. - Use all channels for promotion: digital, media, radio, btl, your partners websites eth.
